Happy Friday! There were some awesome pins this week on Pinterest! I still can’t get over how many different things I love can be in one place at one time. The Her Campus Blogger Network board is absolutely no exception. While my plans to attend the conference fell through and I am at home for the weekend, I am excited to get the chance to rest and catch up on some sleep from a long week and a very long day. Here are some of my favorites from this week! Enjoy!
October June: http://www.octoberjune.com/2014/03/the-importance-of-self-care.html?m=1
Preach. This article is so important and I am in agreement with basically everything she writes. My favorite is “cry it out”. I feel like a lot of girls try not to cry because it makes them look weak but it is just a way of expressing strong emotions.
The Caro Diaries: http://www.thecarodiaries.com/2013/07/college-bound-5-discounts-every-college.html
This article is wicked helpful. As a college student I am always thinking about ways to save money on whatever I can. This is an amazing resource.
Fashion Trends 101: http://www.fashiontrends101.com/blog/essie-summer-favorites
I LOVE nail polish. Since I’ve gotten back into that nasty habit of biting my nails I haven’t gotten a manicure in a while. I am very excited to try out these new colors once they have grown back.
xo Mia: http://www.xomia.com/2014/07/daily-outfit-cropped.html
I LOVE this post. Everything about it is perfect. From her points about embracing your body to her points about wearing the clothes you want, everything she is saying is 100% accurate.
Coffee Beans and High Heels: http://coffeebeansandhighheels.weebly.com/for-yourself/the-fear
Fears are huge and it is very important to overcome this. I am beyond inspired by her post about how she overcame her fear! I totally agree when she says how important it is to make an effort to overcome your own fears!

As this past year comes to an end, I look back and can’t help but think about the little bits and pieces of advice I picked up through different experiences. One of my visions for the longest time has been to write a blog. I have always been passionate about writing and in this past year, discovered a new love for writing about advice or knowledge to help others. That is my goal for this blog and a resolution for this coming year I fully intend to keep.
I have come to learn that resolutions are unexpectedly hard to maintain. The idea of resolutions as things we aspire to do is a good one, but there is something about feeling obligated to keep them. More often than not, when I struggle with one, I give up on it. One more than one occasion I stopped trying to fulfill a resolution because it was “too hard”, I finally learned a really important lesson about resolutions; they are only possible when you really desire them or when you seize the moment in which they are given to you and surge ahead.
I can’t help but think the idea for this blog came to me at this time for a reason and I don’t want to lose the moment without seeing what could have been, and what it can do for me personally and emotionally. I am not anticipating this coming semester at school to be easy for various reasons, but this blog gives me hope that this will be one more way for me to cope with what is thrown at me. I have learned to take experiences and learn from them.
I know at one point in the next day or so I am going to write up yet another list of resolutions. However, at this point in my life I think I just have five, and they aren’t ridiculous or ones I don’t think will stick. They have become somewhat of my motto:
- Stay strong, no matter what gets thrown at you, but remember that it’s okay to cry on someone’s shoulder sometimes.
- Stay positive
- Don’t let life get to you; go with the flow and try your hardest to remove yourself from a stressful or emotional situation before it becomes a fixation.
- All you need in life is one or two people who you know you can count on; don’t feel the need to be friends with everyone and definitely don’t be afraid if you are not best friends with everyone.
- Remember that there is at least one person out there who loves you. You are special and loveable. You are never really truly alone. Remember that, and love who you are.
